January 13, 2019: SUCK IT, HOLLYWOOD.
This is an important year for Sonic, one I can only look upon with worry. Yes, we have Team Sonic Racing to look forward to, but then there is this THING to deal with.
Now, I wasn't looking forward to the movie to begin with. After seeing this (and the crap that came before it) I have even less reason to be hyped. This is going to be purely Hollywood swill for the least common denominator, i.e. ignorant viewers who don't know any better or care. What's worse, this will be the people's first exposure to the Blue Blur. Ever. At least Sonic Boom tried to be consistent.
Look, no one is happy with this. Not the fans, not Sega, and especially not Sonic Team alumni, Ohshima-san, Naka-san, or Yashura-san. Paramount is taking this character and turning him and his legacy into popcorn fluff. And that is unacceptable.
If more people understood what Sonic is, what the franchise is and what it isn't, then travesties like this wouldn't be as likely to happen. This is why I'll be pushing this site and Project: Blue Future more, and I encourage you to do the same. Heck, if Blue Future isn't your ideal direction, then push something else. At this rate, almost anything is better than this crap.
In other news, I'm almost done with the Sonic Heroes review. I lost the document a few times, so I've had to rewrite it. As always, I thank you for your patience. In the meantime, check out the Community Speaker Box for a piece I've written on Shadow and why I like him so much.
