The Fastest Thing Alive
CHARACTER INFORMATION
Name: Sonic (King Sonic/Arthur if Camelot citizens insist; he'd rather they didn't)
Nicknames: SegaSonic, The Blue Blur, The Fastest Thing Alive, Blue Wind (by Soleannanian citizens), Mr. Monster Guy (Chip reserved that for the Werehog), Big Blue, Knave the Hedgehog (Caliburn stuck him with this "title" for a while)
(Although known primarily as The Fastest Thing Alive in the SatAM TV series, watch the Sonic Riders intro - Jet [mockingly] calls Sonic 'The Fastest Thing Alive.')
Race: Hedgehog
(Speculation: If you choose to get technical, Sonic is most likely an African Pygmy Hedgehog, since that is the most common, well-known species of hedgehog, not to mention is the species of hedgehog shown in the US Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Adventure 2: Battle commercials.)
Gender: Male
Age: 16
(Sonic Generations took place on his birthday, so it's safe to say that he's 16 by now.)
Date of Birth: June 23
(Sonic's DOB is generally confirmed as June 23rd, since that was the release of his first video game. However, it is not canon to the video game storyline, as his true DOB is unknown. If you find it necessary to add his DOB nonetheless, June 23rd would be the most ideal choice.)
Birthplace: ~ Christmas Island (it's not indisputably confirmed that this is Sonic's birthplace, but is most likely canonical since this did after all come from a very old, videogame-based storyline arc - if this is not true, good speculation would tell you that his birthplace is most likely South Island)
(Speculation: Sonic's birthplace is commonly confirmed as South Island. As convincing as that may be, it's probably false. The original game storyline prior to Sonic the Hedgehog 1's release says Sonic's birthplace is the small Christmas Island, but Sonic usually hung out at South Island, which is what could have possibly sparked that misinterpretation. His birthplace is also commonly referred to as Mobotropolis. This is canonical if they are making profiles for the Archie Sonic the Hedgehog comic's portrayal of Sonic, which has since ceased to be. But in the games, there is no Mobotropolis.)
Height: 100 centimeters (3 feet and 3 inches)
(125 centimeters/4 feet 1 inches in Werehog form)
Weight: 35 kilograms (77.2 pounds)
(60 kilograms/132.2 pounds in Werehog form)
Ability Type: Speed (Power in Werehog form)
Alignment: Hero
Physical Techniques:
(1). Spin Attack
Description: While in locomotion, Sonic can curl down and take on a fetal position, rolling along the ground at a very high speed and rate of torque, using his natural speed and the sharpness of his quills to his advantage. This is meant primarily for breaking through barriers or destroying enemies. If necessary, he can use this technique to drift through tight turns, adding to his Super Boost stamina.
In-game debut: Sonic the Hedgehog, Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, 1991
Last known use: Sonic Frontiers, Sony PlayStation 4 - 5/Microsoft Xbox One - Series/Nintendo Switch/PC, 2022
(2). Spin Jump
Description: Also referred to as the "spinball jump," Sonic is able to leap into the air and curl into a spinning, tightly compacted ball of sharpness and destruction which can destroy enemies and break barriers. He has learned to combine this technique with others.
In-game debut: Sonic the Hedgehog, Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, 1991
Last known use: Sonic - Speed Battle, Mobile, 2023
(3). Spin Dash
Description: Originally named the "Super Spin Dash," Sonic is able to curl down and begin revving up, taking on a diagonally pivoted, ovular shape. Once unleashed, Sonic blasts forward in an acceleration roll of high speeds with limited airborne capability, meant to break barriers or mow down enemies.
In-game debut: Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, 1992
Last known use: Sonic Frontiers, Sony PlayStation 4 - 5/Microsoft Xbox One - Series/Nintendo Switch/PC, 2022
(4). Insta-Shield
Description: While in spinball form in midair, Sonic can momentarily encompass his spherical physique with a shield of bluish-white energy (Presumed to be static electricity), protecting him from harm for a split second and allowing him to strike through enemy weaknesses.
In-game debut: Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, 1994
Last known use: Sonic Mania, Sony PlayStation 4/Microsoft Xbox One/Nintendo Switch/PC, 2017
(5). Super Peel Out
Description: An acceleration technique where, while standing in place, Sonic can rev his legs up at a blinding speed to the point where the blending colors of his shoes and legs causes a figure 8 to flicker about under him, and once unleashed, Sonic speeds forward at supersonic speeds, sometimes accompanied by a split second of invincibility.
In-game debut: Sonic the Hedgehog CD, Sega Mega CD, 1993
Last known use: Sonic Mania, Sony PlayStation 4/Microsoft Xbox One/Nintendo Switch/PC, 2017
(6). Jump Dash/Homing Attack
Description: While airborne in spinball form, Sonic can burst forward in a sudden jolt of speed in a linear path enveloped in a blue aura, and when an enemy or object is near, the jump can be used to home right into the nearby enemy or object with extreme impact power.
In-game debut: Sonic Adventure, Sega Dreamcast, 1999 (was also used in Sonic 3D Blast: Flickies' Island as the “Blast Attack”; however, it could only be used if a certain powerup is retrieved)
Last known use: Sonic - Dream Team, Mobile, 2023
(7). Light (Speed) Dash
Description: When a trail or pattern of rings is in close proximity, Sonic is able to zoom across the trajectory of the ring path at light speed, defying gravity and collecting all of them in a flash. Tends to be slower if helped by a Wisp.
In-game debut: Sonic Adventure, Sega Dreamcast, 1999
Last known use: Sonic – Dream Team, Mobile 2023
(8). Light (Speed) Attack
Description: After gaining enough power, Sonic dashes into a powerful and fast attack on all enemies in the vicinity. Its accuracy is questionable, however, and Sonic has to be careful not to end up somewhere he shouldn't when coming out of the attack.
In-game debut: Sonic Adventure, Sega Dreamcast, 1999
Last known use: Sonic Heroes, Nintendo GameCube, Sony PlayStation 2/Microsoft Xbox, 2003 (as the finisher of the "Sonic Overdrive")
(9). Sonic Wind
Description: When enough rings are obtained, Sonic can conjure up a powerful whirlwind of swirling blue blades of energy (presumably wind or Ki), harming any opponents caught in it.
Appearance: Sonic Adventure 2, Sega Dreamcast, 2001
(10). Chaos Control
Description: With the use of a single Chaos Emerald, Sonic is able to warp time and space and teleport himself to a desired destination, freeze time, speed it up, or slow it down. When using it with another user, a portal can be created to travel through time. Whilst in super form, Chaos Control is more potent, to the point that he can teleport massively sized objects, assuming he has help, of course.
In-game debut: Sonic Adventure 2, Sega Dreamcast, 2001
(11). Triangle Jump
Description: Sonic basically Jump Dashes between walls but he can only remain rooted on a wall for a short period of time when still.
In-game debut: Sonic Heroes, Nintendo GameCube, Sony PlayStation 2/Microsoft Xbox, 2003
(12). Blue Tornado
Description: When in mid-air, Sonic can assume spinball form and repeatedly follow the trajectory of a perfect circle, stirring up a substantially powerful vortex of blue colored winds, sending anything caught in it flying up into the air and ultimately helpless.
In-game debut: Sonic Heroes, Nintendo GameCube, Sony PlayStation 2/Microsoft Xbox, 2003
Last known use: Sonic Rush, Nintendo DS, 2005
(13). Super Boost
Description: Quite possibly Sonic's greatest acceleration move: at will, Sonic is able to burst forward. As a base technique, it certainly speeds him up, but when he's in top physical condition, he is able to zoom in a blaze of blue energy and instantly achieve supersonic speeds upon lifting his feet off the ground without virtually any acceleration delay. Either way, it greatly depletes his tension and stamina, and he will need to collect rings, perform stylish tricks, successfully drift or gather White Wisps to use it again. How he's able to do this while grinding or riding vehicles is a mystery, though.
In-game debut: Sonic Rush, Nintendo DS, 2005
Last known use: Sonic - Dream Team, Mobile, 2023
(14). Bounce Attack/Bound Jump
Description: Sonic jumps and slams down on the enemy, gaining a bit more altitude with each bounce.
In-game debut: Sonic Advance 2, Nintendo Game Boy Advance, 2003 (was also used in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Sonic Adventure 2; however, it was not named as such, and can only be used if a certain powerup is retrieved)
Last known use: Sonic – Lost World, Nintendo Wii U/3DS, 2013

Only used in: Sonic the Hedgehog (aka Sonic Next), Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3, 2006
(19). Gun Drive
Description: By utilizing the sky-blue gem in the shoes given to him by Mr. Roberto, Sonic can throw the sky-blue gem then immediately leap towards the thrown gem's location with incredible speed and accuracy.
Only used in: Sonic the Hedgehog (aka Sonic Next), Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3, 2006
(20). Scale
Description: By utilizing the purple gem in the shoes given to him by Mr. Roberto of Soleanna, Sonic can minimize his body size from 100cm to only a couple of inches tall. He can perform infinite jumps and has greater running speed.
Only used in: Sonic the Hedgehog (aka Sonic Next), Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3, 2006
(21). Thunder Guard

Last known use: Sonic Rivals 2, Sony PlayStation Portable, 2007
(23). Speed Break
Description: Similar to his Super Boost, Sonic can dash forward at tremendous speeds enveloped in flames, surpassing large distances and damaging enemies in his way. Shahra's power is needed for this to work.
Appearance: Sonic and the Secret Rings, Nintendo Wii, 2007

Only used in: Sonic and the Black Knight, Nintendo Wii, 2009
(31). Drop Dash
Description: Upon landing, Sonic can push forward with a quick Spin Attack, extending his momentum a tad.
Appearance: Sonic Mania, Sony PlayStation 4/Microsoft Xbox One/Nintendo Switch/PC, 2017
Last known use: Sonic Frontiers, Sony PlayStation 4 - 5/Microsoft Xbox One - Series/Nintendo Switch/PC, 2022
Abilities and Aptitude:
(1). Sonic the Hedgehog really IS the fastest thing alive! Sonic can run at supersonic speeds in high excess of 760 miles an hour in normal conditions. This amazing feat gives him the ability to break the sound barrier with ease and his legs are configured in such a way that he can also run backwards. But Sonic's slow walking movements are sometimes awkward and clumsy-looking, perhaps due to his almost constant speeding-around.
(2). His extraordinary speed statistic promotes exceptional and elegant acrobatic and gymnastic skills, agility, and adroitness. He also has fantastic reflexes as well, possibly as a result of his outstanding acrobatic/gymnastic abilities. By spreading his body and long quills to generate air resistance, Sonic can even slow his rate of descent when falling through the air from a great height.
(3). Sonic's resilience in his legs and heart is off the map. He can run for days and days at top speed before showing hints of fatigue and even then, he recovers rather fast. He also has astounding resilience to severe blows (especially surprising given his diminutive stature) and it takes a tremendous amount of damage infliction for him to go down for the count. This is especially true once he's set his mind on a goal; only the most life-threatening injuries will stop him from pressing onward.
(4). Has the bizarre ability to sense immediate danger which manifests in the form of sneezing or a tingling sensation in his quills.
(5). Sonic can alter his molecular structure by absorbing Hyper Go-On energy from Wisps. This ability permits transformation into many of the different forms you will see below.

Personality Details:
Sonic the Hedgehog is like the wind: unpredictable, always at some other place and never congregating in one location for too long. Sonic is a carefree, easy going, and laidback young hedgehog who likes nothing more than to just venture across the endless boundaries of the world and enjoy his prized freedom. This is probably why he isn't too interested in dating.
With an attitude just as fickle as his urge for adventure, as well as an ego as big as South Island, Sonic is sassy and quick-witted with a passion for just enjoying life, leaving the past behind, and to always move forward without regrets. He's smooth, cool and popular, and tends to let this get to his head from time to time, possessing a somewhat narcissistic tongue. This behavior makes him look like an ass sometimes, whether he realizes it or not. However, he is quite a gentleman and has good manners and an air of politeness.
Well...when he feels like it, anyway. He usually just sees such forms of etiquette as a major bore. This is because he can't stand being restricted by certain standards if he can't help it.
Sonic lives and dies by his own rules rather than the standards of those around him or even for the sake of heroism, living his life exactly how he wants to live it, even if it makes him look bad. However, when Sonic gets riled up over injustice, oppression, or the despair and sadness of another (an easy feat, since he hates evil in all forms), his vague sense of heroism kicks into overtime and the results could be devastating since his temper can, at times, be just as bad and as short as his patience. A rarely seen trait otherwise, this is most noticeable when he is up against another nefarious scheme for global conquest from his arch nemesis, Dr. Robotnik.
As a Werehog, Sonic's personality remains unchanged for the most part, but, as one may no doubt assume, his temper is even worse, making him more prone to feral outbursts of rage, promising doom for his foes. The fact that his speed, looks and overall cool factor is hampered by this transformation doesn't help his stress, either. You would think that he would be driven mad by this form, but that is not the case. Sonic's heart and will is simply too damn strong to be affected by something like that.
It is this factor that makes him near impossible to predict. No matter what happens or who looks down on him, he will never give up. He keeps going, keeps pushing on. Whatever it takes to do what he's gotta do.
Overall, Sonic just does whatever the hell he wants, when he wants and however he wants to do it. Screw anyone who has a problem with it.
Historical Biography:
Like his personality suggests, Sonic the Hedgehog is a guy who never focuses on the past. He always moves forward; physically, and mentally. So it doesn't take an IQ of 300 to figure out that Sonic's history is a mystery to everyone. Very little is known, but what is known will be told here at Concept: "Mobius".
Although Sonic was born at Christmas Island, Sonic's favorite place to go was South Island. It was one of the few regions that contained ring portals that gave access to the different dimensions that held very special and omnipotent gems known as the Chaos Emeralds. More than likely, though, he was never concerned with any of that.
Sonic liked nothing more than to just lie back on the beach of South Island and listen to music. Sonic loved rock music the most and was even singer in his own rock band as a vocalist. He loved hanging out with his friends, but he enjoyed just as much to be alone and wander the lands aimlessly, in endless search for adventure.
Sonic would be enjoying himself were it not for the endless amount of wicked plots to take over the world that his arch nemesis, Dr. Robotnik (or as he is more commonly addressed, Dr. Eggman) had up his sleeve. But in the end, Sonic always managed to outsmart Dr. Robotnik, earning celebrity status across the entire world (most of it, anyway), revered as a hero and loved by all. All was well until Eggman came up with his best plan yet upon hearing the stories of the Chaos Emeralds…
Dr. Robotnik vowed to get the Chaos Emeralds and soon built a giant metal fortress, constructing an army of various types of robots to go out and search for the Chaos Emeralds. He knew those emeralds could be used to make devastating nuclear weapons or things of the like. They'd be perfect for taking over the world. But Sonic, ever the hero, stood up against Dr. Robotnik and eventually managed to defeat the robots and Eggman; cornering them in the fortress they came from, and told them never to come back out. Eggman sulked in defeat, but still vowed that he would get the Chaos Emeralds and exact his revenge on Sonic.
Since then, Sonic has always ended up having to save the world or somebody from Dr. Robotnik's clutches. And along the way, Sonic has made many, many friends and nearly as many enemies. But saving the world is a mere distraction, since right after that, Sonic is off to his next adventure! It's the only way to live life without regrets!
Personal Information:
Family: He thinks of Miles "Tails" Prower as his little brother. His parentage is unknown and it has been officially stated (By Naoto Ohshima no less) that he does not have any, suggesting that he is orphaned.
Greatest Friend(s): Himself, Amy Rose, Knuckles the Echidna, Cream the Rabbit & Cheese and Blaze the Cat.
Other Friend(s): Big the Cat, Vector the Crocodile, Espio the Chameleon, Charmy Bee, Mighty the Armadillo, Ray the Flying Squirrel, Shadow the Hedgehog, Rouge the Bat, Silver the Hedgehog (when the guy's actually friendly), Shahra the Genie of the Ring, Marine the Raccoon, Chip, Professor Pickle, Merlina the Wizard, the Knights of Camelot's Round Table and the Wisp race of aliens.
Love Interest(s): None, regardless of what Amy Rose tells herself or others.
Rival(s): Shadow the Hedgehog, Knuckles the Echidna (however, they're usually on good terms), Metal Sonic, Jet the Hawk (as far as Extreme Gear is concerned) and Silver the Hedgehog (in the loosest sense of the term).
Foe(s): Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik, Fang the Sniper, Metal Sonic, Eggman Nega, the Deadly Six Zeti, and "Infinite" the Jackal.
Likes: Himself, his freedom and independence, the beauty of nature, but most of all: running or anything to do with speed. For a clue on Sonic's environmental tastes, he seems to like tropical and highly industrialized cities and the ocean (as long as he isn't in it) -- anything with movement, basically. He also enjoys any fair opportunity to playfully tease his friends or make himself look good.
Main Dislikes: The word 'slow,' oppression, injustice, sadness (especially if it's one-sided), boring theme parks, seeing others cry, anything that involves water (a bath or shower is as far as he'll go when not chasing down Eggman or participating in sports), and being subjected to immobility or being cooped up somewhere for prolonged periods. DON'T put him on a cruise ship or anything like that, or maniacal and stir-crazy behavior may begin to manifest itself in him since Sonic can't stand prolonged separation from large and open places to run.
Other Dislikes: He hates losing, or waiting on anyone or anything. Amy's Piko Piko hammer and being glomped are also annoyances. Surprisingly, he isn't very fond of racing, either; as far as he's concerned, he's the fastest, so why bother? (That changes if Eggman's involved or his reputation is on the line.) He also dislikes the use of firearms ("I wouldn't be caught dead using those things"). Lastly, Sonic hates being referred to by formal titles such as "Mr." or "Master", despite Cream's insistence of the former.
Hobbies: Venturing across the globe to random regions, music, sitting back and chilling/dozing anywhere whether it be at a beach or on a tree branch (Sonic is surprisingly lazy when given the chance), and reading books (Especially during the rainy season).
Favorite Food(s): Chili dogs, and anything flavorful, healthy or not.
(Sonic's fondness for Chili Dogs became canon upon the introduction of the official Sonic Advance 3 Strategy Guide [the Japanese one] when it mentioned Sonic's love for Chili Dogs. For those who doubt that, watch the opening scene to Sonic and the Black Knight; He's got one dog in each hand, eats one with great relish [pun not intended] and expresses disappointment at losing the other.)
Favorite Color(s): It might be red since his shoes are red, along with the Cyclone car he drove in the Sonic Drift games, and of course, the Tornado 1 is red. Though, it could be blue as well, considering his ego.
Favorite Music Genre(s): Rock, Punk, Techno
Occupation: Unemployed. Hero of the world isn't really a compensating position, anyway, though it might as well be.
Place of Residence: The world is Sonic's home. However, he has a homely place seen in the first scene of Sonic and the Secret Rings. Nothing more is known about this place though. Indeed, it's not indisputably confirmed that it is his home at all, but it's not very likely a drifter like Sonic would take up a permanent residence...at least, not at his current age.
GAME INFORMATION
Franchise Name: Sonic the Hedgehog
Original Purpose: Mascot of SEGA (Service Games) Enterprises to stand up against their rival Nintendo's mascot, Mario, and to be a pop culture video game character; Main character of the series and reluctant love interest for Amy Rose
Current Purpose: Hasn't changed. Although, Sega has now gone third-party (as SEGA Corporation), is devoted to software, and merged with the Sammy corporation (Sega Sammy Holdings). Not only that, but Sonic games are released mostly on Nintendo consoles, ending the rivalry between the two companies.
Date of first promotion/presence in the industry: The first promotions of Sonic the Hedgehog began in late 1990, where an image of Sonic was depicted on the side of the tour bus of the Japanese band, Dreams Come True. His first official promotion was at the United States of America in his first video game, Sonic the Hedgehog, released on June 23rd, 1991 on the Sega Genesis (called the Sega Mega Drive in other nations).
Years in Service: 32 years and still going...
Impact on Series: He's the titular star of this franchise and the driving force behind it. Whatever game isn't centered completely around him in every single way tends to be looked upon with great disdain for various reasons that people have no problem listing off. And even then, Sonic himself can be and has been looked down upon if he's not portrayed exactly how critics and fans want, from visual design and gameplay to voice (i.e. Classic is God, Modern can die).
Original Designer: Naoto Ohshima
Design Process: Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog was designed for the games by one Naoto Ohshima of Sonic Team. Sonic was the very first character of the franchise to be declared an actual Sonic character. The design process took several months and after many designs, the choices were eventually narrowed down to an armadillo and a hedgehog. Yuji Naka suggested a hedgehog in the first place, while the armadillo can be assumed suggested because it was another animal that could roll up into a ball, which is what they were looking for regarding the gameplay premise. Eventually, the hedgehog was chosen and was designed as Sonic by Naoto Ohshima. Key members of Sega's US branch, under initial scrutiny from Japan, remodeled Sonic's look to the hedgehog we were introduced to.
Possible design inspirations: It is possible Sonic was not originally created by Sonic Team. Although his appearance and design was made by them, the name and concept of a blue, speedy hedgehog named Sonic dates back to the 40's. Mary Garnet was a popular writer of children's books at the time and her husband was a test pilot for the United States Air Force. Her husband had an operation going on, which he named Project "Blue Gale." The purpose? To build the first plane that could break the sound barrier.
Mary always called her husband "hedgehog," since when he took his flight helmet off, his hair appeared to be all spiky, resembling the quills on a hedgehog's back. This name stuck and it inspired Mary to decorate his flight jacket with a blue hedgehog mascot.
Since he was so busy with the military, it was up to Mary to raise their daughter Sherry, to whom Mary would always tell stories. Oddly enough, the hero of the stories was always a blue hedgehog named Sonic. They'd tell about how Sonic would always save the world and protect innocent people and small animals from evil men. These stories were used as the basis for the video game story of Sonic the Hedgehog.
On October 14th, 1947, General Charles Elwood Yeager (AKA Chuck Yeager) became the first man to break the sound barrier with the rocket-powered X-1 fighter plane, earning the dub The Fastest Man Alive. But, a very little known event occurred earlier that same day. It has been lost in record books as far as anyone knows, but it involved how another pilot, named Hedgehog, had set out to break the record himself. He came close, but his plane began to vibrate and eventually exploded into a fireball. A tragedy that was shadowed by the historic event that took place afterwards. Nobody remembers the name of the brave pilot, but veterans of the airbase still remember the emblem of Sonic the blue hedgehog.
Whether or not the Mary Garnet story is true remains to be seen. But shades of it are visible all over the Sonic franchise, most aptly in the old SatAM Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon. The lyrics of the opening theme referred to Sonic as The Fastest Thing Alive, similar to Chuck Yeager's dub, The Fastest Man Alive. Plus, Sonic's uncle in the series is named Chuck. That name was also given to Chris' Uncle in the recent series, Sonic X.
But most importantly, the story is told in a pamphlet that accompanied the Sonic Adventure 2 Special 10th anniversary gift pack. Many believe that the Mary Garnet story is a fake, made only to further the imaginations of the fans, making Sonic Team completely responsible for Sonic's creation. But it is possible that the blue hedgehog we know and love was based off of a very tragic story dating back to World War II.

Personal character analysis/commentary (by Ryan the Game Master):
When you're the star of your own series, you've kinda got a right to be a little prideful and this star is as prideful as they come. Sonic has come a mighty long way since his debut in 1991 and been through a lot of changes, for better and worse. While most things haven't changed (his resolve, ego and attitude), some things have (more approachable, evolving from the loose-cannon ass we grew up with). Whether or not that's a good thing is still up for debate.
Part of Sonic's charm is his inability and refusal to conform. He does whatever he wants his way and doesn't give a damn about rules. He may be an ass most of the time (in some media, anyway), but his good qualities far outweigh the bad. He does what's right, regardless of consequences, even if he winds up looking like the bad guy. That's what I like about him.
As far as I'm concerned, Sonic is Sonic. He's still around, still cool and still fun to play with. That's really all that matters. All this other stuff everyone's been bitching about is just meaningless fluff, and you know Sonic ain't the type of person to sit through nearly two decades of fluff and let it get him down. No, he's too busy running around adventuring. He's got places to go, people to see, things to do and butt to kick. If he were real, you know there's not a chance in hell he'd listen to all this fuss. He'd just laugh and zoom off, busting the sound barrier all over our sorry butts.
That's the viewpoint I've taken and will stick with. I'm going to enjoy myself playing the games, experiencing the adventures, immersing myself in the ongoing story (31 years in the making) of a boy against a world that's way too small for a life as large as his.
